Is Singer John Mayer A Racist or An Idiot?
Some of you may have no idea who he is but I like to think of myself as lover of all types of music so on occassion I will listen to the tunes of John Mayer whose music borderlines Pop and Blues. Well no more. In a recent Playboy interview Grammy whinning John Mayer litterally stuck his guitar in his mouth by saying several comments in his interview that could be and were received by many as racist. In the Interview Mayer commented on a question someone asked him in reference to him having hood pass. "Someone asked me the other day, 'What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?' And by the way, it's sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a n**** pass. Why are you pulling a punch and calling it a hood pass if you really have a hood pass? But I said, 'I can't really have a hood pass' I've never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, 'We're full.'" Mayer stated in the interview. After the article Mayer apologized on Twitter stating the statement did not come out as he intended. "I am sorry that I used the word. And it's such a shame that I did because the point I was trying to make was in the exact opposite spirit of the word itself. It was arrogant of me to think I could intellectualize using it, because I realize that there's no intellectualizing a word that is so emotionally charged" You think John? Hmmm...ok, so lets say it didn't come out like you palnned what about your statement in reference to your penis? In the same interview Mayer described his lifestyle as a ladies man but stated he had never dated an African American woman before. He went on to describe his penis as being a white supermacist but stated he was going to start to explore other options than what his penis suggests. Was this a horrible interview or what? Well it probably was bad for John but I'm sure it shot the statsticts for Playboy off the roof. Remember Holly Robinson (now Holly Robinson Peete) from 21 Jumpstreet? Mayer also commented on how beautiful the actress was and she was in heaven when she heard about. She publicly stated she was "levitating" after hearing the musician spoke so highly of her. This was before she found out about his comments. So of course people who knew about the interview were shocked. After getting all the details, Robinson quickly recanted her appreciation for Mayer's comment. Mayer tried to apologize to Robinson via email but the diva basically told him no apology was good enough for what he said. Is the talented musican a racist or just plain stupid? Either way He may can spit some good tunes for people to listen to but he , he needs to stop and think before he spits something out of his mouth.
